Course Description
Oral sex is a deeply pleasurable activity that enhances arousal and diversifies sexual play. This course will explore ways to increase clients' comfort with oral sex by offering ways to make it more fun, comfortable, safer and satisfying.

Course Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Offer suggestions for making oral sex more comfortable and pleasurable in cases where a client is uncomfortable with specific positions, taste, smell or bodily fluids. 
  • Describe 2 ways to make oral sex safer AND more pleasurable when a client is wishing to prevent the transmission of sexually transmitted infections.

Intended Audience:
Introductory, Post-Graduate
This course is appropriate for mental health professionals (i.e., Psychologists, LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCs/LMHCs); medical professionals (i.e., MDs, NPs, PTs, OTs); and sex educators.
CE Hours:
This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 2 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Completion of this activity does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification. Ellen Barnard, MSW, CSE (she/they) is a sex educator and erotic boutique owner who has been educating professionals and consumers for the past 29 years on topics ranging from increasing pleasure, incorporating safer sex techniques, talking about one's desires, and exploring new ways to enjoy intimacy.
