After taking this course, participants will be familiar with highlights from the AASECT Code of Ethics. They will also examine ethical and legal considerations of surrogate partner therapy (SPT) and make an informed decision regarding referral for SPT.
Intended Audience
This course is recommended both as an introduction to the topic as well as an update for more experienced practitioners of sex and relationship therapy.

As a result of taking this course, you will be able to:
1. Comply with the AASECT Code of Ethics, as well as to one's professional code of ethics (e.g., APA, AAMFT).
2. Describe at least three ethical ways to practice culturally sensitive sex therapy.
3.Describe at least three ethical dilemmas in surrogate partner therapy.

*If seeking AASECT Certification, these hours may count as follows:
Area A: 3 hours
Exam and Evaluation
You are required to take an exam to demonstrate that you read and understood the material. This course includes three exams and one evaluation. You will have three tries on each exam to pass at 80% or better. Once you complete the course evaluation, you will be able to automatically download your certificate of completion.
