Dr. Stephanie Buehler, Director of The Buehler Institute, is a licensed psychologist in the state of California (PSY 17609). She is also an AASECT certified sex therapist and supervisor of sex therapists and counselors. Dr. Buehler is the author of What Every Mental Health Professional Needs to Know about Sex and Sex, Love, and Mental Illness: A Couples Guide to Staying Connected. A new book is due out in 2017 entitled Counseling Couples Before, During, and After Pregnancy: Sexuality and Intimacy.
Dr. Buehler is a graduate of UCLA (B.A.), USC (M.P.W.), CSULA (Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential), Pepperdine University (M.A.), and Alliant/California School of Professional Psychology-San Diego (Psy.D.). She worked for a decade as an elementary school teacher in the inner city of Los Angeles; a decade for Teacher Created Materials as a freelance author and editor; and for the past fifteen years has been in private practice in Orange County, CA.
The 75-hour continuing education program consists of four Modules. Modules are divided into Courses, and Courses are divided into Lessons. Within the Courses, you will find a variety of learning activities, including powerpoint lectures, video clips, website visits, and journal articles that were chosen both for content and interest.
Activities are designed to be completed within an hour or less. You could complete a lesson each day on your lunch hour, or you can “binge learn” and complete several. Log on while at your desk, in your jammies, or anywhere at all, any time of day that is convenient for you.
Once you are enrolled, and before the first quarter begins, you will be sent detailed instructions on how to log into our customized learning management system (we are using Talent LMS). Then the fun begins, as learning modalities are varied:
When you understand the material, take a quiz–you have two chances to pass. Once you complete all four modules, you will receive via mail an attractive certificate that documents your knowledge.

Although the learning management system will work on any device, it is recommended that you use a computer that allows you to take photos, as you will need to take a photo of yourself before you take any quiz for identification purposes.
The learning management system (LMS) is a separate site where all of the lectures, assignments, discussions, and quizzes take place. You must be comfortable with navigating new sites or using Talent LMS online technical support. You need to know how to follow online instructions on a computer screen, use your camera, bookmark the login page, and so forth. If you have any concerns, you are welcome to email before signing up and we can decide together if an online program is right for you.
And one good reason to take online learning from The Buehler Institute: You won’t sit watching a talking head and moving your mouse, pretending you’re learning online!
You have one week to decide on whether or not this program is right for you in order to receive a full refund less $50 processing fee–and you will forfeit any credits.
