Just as we develop emotionally, socially and intellectually, we also develop sexually. Understanding human sexual development is critical if we are to understand a client's full history. In this course, you will be introduced to the topic through a PowerPoint video lecture. Then, you'll read a variety of articles about particular topics in human sexual development. The articles are chosen for salience as well as your interest.
As a result of taking this course, you will be able to:
1. Describe milestones of sexual development from prenatal stage until death.
2. Discuss at least three psychological needs associated with disorders of sexual development (DSD).
3. Describe normal childhood sexual behaviors.
4. Identify and describe at least five developmental milestones from adolescent to adult sexuality and its expression.
5. Discuss factors that may explain the phenomenon of sexually inexperienced adults.
6. Name at least four factors that may lead to decreased sexual interest and function in older adults.

Exam and Evaluation
You are required to take an exam to demonstrate that you read and understood the material. This course contains one exam and one evaluation. You will have three tries on the exam to pass at 80% or better. Once you complete the course evaluation, you will be able to automatically download your certificate of completion.
